TINTED GLASS

REFLECTIVE GLASS

Glass that has been treated with a metallic coating which allows the coating to mainly reflect heat radiation. This translates to a cooler inner-building environment.

PROPERTIES
  • Reflects significant amounts of radiation.
  • Reduces glare when looking through it.
SUGGESTED USE
  • Windows

TEMPERED GLASS (Toughened Glass)

Glass that has undergone a process of extreme heating and rapid cooling, making it 4 to 5 times stronger than float glass

PROPERTIES
  • In the event of breakage, tempered glass shatters into small oval-shaped pebbles instead of large glass shards that may cause severe injuries with its sharp edges.
  • When failure occurs, the entire sheet of glass will shatter instead of just a localized area.
  • Able to withstand 4 to 5 times more stress than ordinary glass before failure.
SUGGESTED USE
  • Shop front
  • Public window structures
  • Sliding doors
  • Partition walls
  • Glass table and tabletops
  • Shower screen
  • Stairways railing
  • Aquarium tanks

LAMINATED GLASS (Safety Glass)

A combination of two glass sheets bonded by an interlayer PVB plastic. This results in a versatile safety glass which tends to holds the fragments together in case of breakage, preventing any sharp fragments from detaching from the main body frame.

PROPERTIES
  • Increased safety factor over normal float glass.
  • Resistant to shattering apart and penetration, even after breakage.
  • Improved sound dampening properties.
  • Blocks up to 99% of UV light.
SUGGESTED USE
  • Shop front
  • Skylights
  • Display casing for valuable goods
  • Soundproofing

LOW-IRON (Crystal) GLASS

Glass that contains very low amounts of iron oxide.

PROPERTIES
  • Ultra clear and higher degree of transparency than ordinary glass.
  • Enhanced light transmission
  • Eliminates colour distortion visible in ordinary glass.
  • Other physical properties similar to ordinary glass.
SUGGESTED USE
  • Aquarium tanks
  • Aesthetic oriented glass jobs
  • Glass applications where optimal clarity is desired.
  • Painting frames

TWO-WAY-MIRROR (One-Way Mirror)

Glass that encases an ultra thin layer of metal resulting in a mirror-like surface that reflects some light.

PROPERTIES
  • Where there is a significant difference in the light intensity on both sides of the glass, the darker side will be less visible from the brighter side.
SUGGESTED USE
  • Office Rooms

Mirror

Glass with a highly reflective surface due to a reflective coating being applied to one side of the glass.

PROPERTIES
  • Flat surface
  • Accurate reflection

  • Interior design so as to create a spacious illusion of the room.
  • Wall mirrors
  • Furniture
